Give each gold replay a specific question

A useful replay starts with a rule you can evaluate. For example, define what counts as a breakout of a range, where that idea becomes invalid and what would make you skip an entry. This is a practice example, not a recommended trading strategy.

Choose a date inside your available history and a timeframe you can read consistently. Step forward without revealing the next candle. Record the decision you could make at that moment, rather than explain a move after seeing its outcome.

Work through the decision, not just the chart

Open a simulated position when your written conditions are met. Set stop loss and take profit, then advance the replay to see how that position develops. Partial profit management and breakeven are available on Essential and Plus.

In your journal, separate the setup from execution: what you saw, why you entered and whether you followed your exit rule. Basic allows up to three journaled trades, so a short first exercise is a practical way to try the workflow.

How much gold history can I replay?

Basic includes one active replay session and up to one year of history. Essential includes three active sessions and up to six years. Plus removes the session limit and permits history back to 2006. These are plan windows; the actual first available date depends on the instrument data.

Can I compare gold results across market conditions?

Choose different historical dates and review your simulated trades. Keep the setup and risk assumptions consistent when comparing periods. Changing your rules after every outcome makes it difficult to understand what you tested.

Essential and Plus add the equity curve, daily P&L calendar and full statistics. Basic includes win rate and long/short statistics. These measures do not demonstrate that a method will remain profitable in live markets.

Is gold replay the same as trading with a broker?

No. No real orders are placed and the balance is virtual. Historical candle data and simulated fills do not reproduce every spread change, liquidity constraint or execution delay. Results are hypothetical.

ReplayBureau is a simulation and analysis tool, not a broker. Simulated balances, profits and losses are not real money, and backtesting or paper-trading results do not guarantee future performance.
